Marnix Oosterwelder
Oosterwelder is my independent design practice. I am Marnix Oosterwelder, a senior industrial designer and design consultant based in the Eindhoven region. With nearly 30 years of experience in industrial design, product development and concept visualization, I help companies translate ideas, technologies and market opportunities into clear product directions.
Through Oosterwelder, I combine the flexibility of an independent consultant with the experience of a senior design professional.

Senior industrial design experience
Over the years, I have worked across a broad range of sectors, including healthcare, consumer products, industrial equipment,packaging, high-tech systems and startup environments.
My work connects strategic product thinking with hands-on design skills: from early exploration and visual concept development to product detailing and communication. I am particularly effective in the early and defining phases of product development, where abstract ideas need to become visible, discussable and actionable.

Product development rarely happens within one discipline. I work comfortably with founders, engineers, product managers, marketers, researchers and design teams.
My role is often to connect different perspectives, structure complexity and translate input into a clear design direction. Thismakes Oosterwelder especially relevant for teams that need senior design input, but not necessarily a full-time in-house designer.

For me, good industrial design is not only about the final shape of a product. It is about understanding the context, making theright choices and creating a product direction that is desirable, feasible and meaningful.
I use visual thinking to make complex questions concrete and to help teams move forward with confidence.
